Webinar Description:
Sand tray therapy is a play-based intervention that can be used with diverse populations, therefore it is important that play therapists are exhibiting cultural inclusivity in its implementation. This webinar will explore the importance of cultural inclusivity in sand tray miniatures, as well as important sensory considerations when working with neurodiverse clients. Participants will engage in discussions around their own sand tray sets and set up in the playroom while leaving with a plan to increase cultural awareness throughout their play therapy sessions. Experiential learning will also aid participants in promoting social justice and advocacy in sand tray group play therapy sessions. Important cultural considerations when implementing sand tray in family play therapy sessions will also be considered.
